Software Engineer, Controls

**About Monumental:** Join our controls engineering team to build the software that powers our autonomous construction robots. We are creating robots that autonomously construct buildings, and our controls systems are critical to their success. Our mission is to make construction software-defined and autonomous.

**Key Responsibilities:**
- Design and implement control algorithms for our construction robots
- Develop software for autonomous navigation, positioning, and task execution
- Collaborate with hardware teams to ensure precise robot calibration and operation
- Build and maintain simulation environments for testing control systems
- Analyze sensor data and implement feedback loops for improved robot performance
- Troubleshoot and optimize control systems for real-world construction environments

**Requirements:**
- 3+ years of experience in controls engineering or robotics
- Proficiency in C++ or Rust for low-level system development
- Strong understanding of PID control, state estimation, and real-time systems
- Experience with robotics frameworks (ROS, etc.)
- Background in mechanical or electrical engineering preferred
- Excellent debugging skills and ability to work with hardware teams
- Experience with sensor fusion and localization algorithms
