About The Role: We are seeking a Founding Software Engineer to join our core engineering team. This is a unique opportunity to have ownership and autonomy in shaping the future of our platform. You will be a pragmatic generalist, contributing to the entire stack as we build scalable and reliable systems for our music streaming service and beyond.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop features for our core product using TypeScript, Rust, React, and other technologies
• Work on low-level audio processing systems using Rust to ensure high performance and reliability
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product, design, and science teams, to validate and implement features that enhance user experiences
• Contribute to the architectural design of our platform, ensuring scalability and maintainability
• Mentor other engineers and help establish best practices and design patterns

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a software engineer, with a focus on building scalable and reliable systems
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript, Rust, and JavaScript/TypeScript for frontend development
• Experience with React and building interactive user interfaces
• Knowledge of backend technologies such as PostgreSQL and experience with database design and optimization
• Familiarity with real-time communication protocols like WebSockets
• Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS
• A passion for clean code, design patterns, and architectural best practices
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects
