Role Description:
As a Backend Engineer at N26, you will play a vital role in developing and maintaining the core systems that power our global banking platform. You'll work within cross-functional teams to build new features, improve existing services, and ensure the scalability and robustness of our backend architecture.

Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve backend services and APIs.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver high-quality features.
- Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code.
- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
- Troubleshoot and debug issues across the stack.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and technology choices.
- Participate in code reviews and share knowledge with the team.

Ideal Candidate:
- Strong programming skills in languages like Java, Kotlin, or Go.
- Experience building and operating distributed systems and microservices.
- Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Understanding of software engineering best practices, including testing, CI/CD, and monitoring.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in an agile environment.
- Passionate about building scalable, reliable, and user-centric financial products.
