Company Description: Natera develops and performs oncology, organ and women's health genomic testing to help patients live longer and lead healthier lives. Team Description: The EMR (Electronic Medical Records) engineering team manages systems and software which facilitates receiving incoming orders and outgoing results to providers. We are in the process of modernizing the EMR platform. Role Description: This is a mid-career (L3) Software Engineer role focused on modernizing the EMR platform. The day-to-day typically involves re-writing or leveling up the existing capabilities into a more resilient or scalable layer. You'll contribute to the design and implementation of new features and improvements on the EMR platform. Responsibilities: - Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software for the EMR platform. - Participate in the modernization efforts, migrating legacy systems or enhancing existing ones. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, and other engineers. - Improve system resilience, scalability, and performance. - Work with various codebases and technologies as needed. Technical Skills: - Proficiency in NodeJS and Typescript. - Strong understanding of SQL databases. - Experience with AWS cloud services and infrastructure as code (Terraform preferred). - Familiarity with software engineering best practices, including unit testing, code reviews, and CI/CD. Ideal Candidate: - Mid-career software engineer with proven experience in backend or full-stack development. - Comfortable working in a cloud environment (AWS). - Experience contributing to the modernization or refactoring of existing systems. - Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively. - Passion for building scalable and resilient systems in the healthcare/genomics domain is a plus.
