Neon is seeking a Product Engineer to shape the user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) for a new agent, enhancing the developer workflow on our serverless Postgres platform. This role requires strong full-stack development capabilities and experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI).

About Neon:
Neon is building the future of Postgres. We are an open-source, cloud-native platform separating storage and compute, offering features like autoscaling, branching, instant PITR, and serverless capabilities. We are a well-funded startup with deep knowledge of Postgres internals. Our storage layer is written in Rust, and our cloud control plane uses Go. We're on a mission to help developers "Ship faster with Postgres". Our architecture decisions focus on scalability, reliability, and developer experience, incorporating concepts like Paxos-based consensus and storage sharding.

Role & Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and iterate on the UI/UX for an agent designed to assist developers using Neon.
- Implement full-stack features, likely involving front-end technologies for the UI and backend integration (potentially Go, interfacing with Rust/Postgres systems).
- Leverage AI/ML concepts to enhance the agent's capabilities and user interaction, potentially related to query optimization, schema suggestions, or automated tasks.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers within our distributed team environment.
- Contribute to the overall developer experience of the Neon platform, ensuring the agent provides significant value and ease of use.
- Work within a modern cloud-native stack, contributing to both the agent and potentially related parts of the control plane or platform services.

Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in full-stack development, comfortable working with both front-end (UI/UX implementation) and back-end systems.
- Demonstrable experience designing and building user interfaces with a strong focus on user experience (UX).
- Solid understanding and practical experience applying AI/ML concepts in software products.
- Familiarity with cloud-native architectures, APIs, and developer tooling.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote setting.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with Go and/or JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks is highly beneficial. Exposure to Rust or database internals (especially Postgres) is a plus.
