About New Lantern: New Lantern is an AI healthcare company building cloud-native solutions to automate radiology workflows. We’re on a mission to transform healthcare by combining cutting-edge AI with engineering excellence. Our platform helps radiologists focus on what they do best—diagnosing—by automating non-diagnostic tasks. We’ve raised $23M in funding and are scaling our infrastructure to support growing customer demand.

About The Role: We’re seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to lead our journey from 0.25 to 1 on observability, availability, and scalable infrastructure. This role is critical as we scale from a stealth launch to serving hundreds of healthcare providers. You’ll own our cloud infrastructure, drive architectural decisions, and ensure high availability for our medical AI platform. This position requires deep technical expertise and leadership skills to guide our engineering team through complex infrastructure challenges.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the design and implementation of highly available, scalable infrastructure for our AI platform
  • Drive architectural decisions for critical systems, focusing on reliability and performance
  • Implement and maintain observability solutions (monitoring, logging, tracing) across our cloud infrastructure
  • Champion security best practices and implement secure-by-design infrastructure
  • Collaborate with development teams to optimize deployment pipelines and CI/CD processes
  • Mentor junior engineers and drive technical excellence across the organization
  • Partner with product and medical teams to understand requirements and deliver scalable solutions
  • Continuously evaluate and implement cost optimization strategies for our cloud infrastructure

What You’ll Bring:

  • Proven experience in designing and implementing scalable cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • Deep understanding of distributed systems, networking, and cloud architecture principles
  • Expertise in observability (monitoring, logging, tracing) and troubleshooting complex systems
  • Strong leadership skills with experience mentoring engineers and driving technical strategy
  • Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Solid understanding of security best practices for cloud infrastructure
  • Track record of building and maintaining highly available systems
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • 8+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on infrastructure

Compensation: The estimated pay range for this role is $160,000 - $230,000, plus equity in a fast-growing healthcare AI company.
