Founding Data / Full Stack Engineer
About NexusGrid: NexusGrid builds innovative software to help energy generators maintain compliance, security, and audit-readiness. We tackle the growing complexity of US energy regulations by automating data validation, documentation, and reporting processes. With a power engineering talent shortage exacerbating the issue, operators desperately need automation solutions. Our platform leverages AI to detect anomalies and flag compliance risks early, enabling operators to transition from reactive to proactive approaches. Founded by a team with expertise in capital markets and power sector engineering, we’re driven by the $1.7T energy transition investment, creating natural competitive moats and mandatory adoption pathways.
Role: As a founding engineer, you’ll shape the technical core of our platform. This includes building secure cloud pipelines and encryption frameworks, architecting time-series data storage, and creating intuitive compliance dashboards. You’ll work closely with our team (a CFA with a decade in capital markets and a PhD EE from the power sector) to solve complex problems at the intersection of energy reliability and grid stability.
Responsibilities: • Design and implement secure cloud infrastructure using AWS, GCP, or Azure • Build robust VPC configurations and secure data pipelines • Develop encryption frameworks and IAM policies • Create audit logging systems for compliance tracking • Handle both batch and real-time data ingestion using Kafka, NiFi, or serverless technologies • Architect time-series data storage solutions • Build intuitive compliance dashboards and reporting tools • Develop ML models that proactively identify compliance gaps before they become issues • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure technical alignment
Requirements: • Proven experience building secure cloud infrastructure • Deep expertise in time-series data storage and processing • Strong background in encryption and security frameworks • Experience with real-time data processing technologies • Ability to design and implement ML models for anomaly detection • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on system architecture • Experience working in founding or early-stage startups • Excellent communication and leadership abilities
Benefits: Meaningful equity, full product/technical ownership, remote-friendly work environment (US preferred).
