Company: Notability's mission is to bring the expressivity of paper to digital devices, so people can learn, study, and collaborate better. Millions of students use Notability every day, primarily on iPads. We are bootstrapped, profitable, and have big plans for expansion. Our office is in downtown San Francisco. Role: We are looking for skilled iOS Engineers to develop and enhance the Notability application, a leading note-taking app on the iPad. You will work on core application features, potentially integrating with advanced graphics, real-time collaboration systems, and emerging AI capabilities within the Apple ecosystem. Responsibilities: * Build, test, and maintain features for the Notability iOS/iPadOS application using Swift and/or Objective-C. * Collaborate effectively with backend, graphics, AI engineers, product managers, and designers. * Ensure high standards of application performance, quality, code readability, and responsiveness. * Participate in code reviews and contribute to team's technical growth. * Stay updated with the latest iOS technologies, platform changes, and best practices. Technical Skills: * Proven experience in native iOS development (Swift, Objective-C). * Strong understanding of the iOS SDK, UIKit, Core Data, and other Apple frameworks. * Experience building complex, high-performance user interfaces for iPad. * Familiarity with software development principles (SOLID, patterns) and testing methodologies. * Experience with graphics (Metal/Core Graphics), real-time collaboration, or integrating ML models is a plus. Ideal Candidate: You have a passion for building exceptional mobile applications and a deep understanding of the iOS platform. You possess strong problem-solving skills, write clean and maintainable code, and enjoy working in a fast-paced, product-focused environment.
