Company Overview: Goody is a gifting platform that makes personal and professional gifting easy — you don't need an address, and you don't need to worry if your recipient prefers something else, since they can swap their gift. We also offer an API to plug in gifting and commerce to any app. Our product is used by Google, Stripe, Anthropic, Meta, NBCUniversal, Notion, DHL, and others. Our mission is to make people's days by making gifting easy, while building a sustainable business on that market opportunity.

Role Overview: We are hiring a full-stack Senior Software Engineer who likes to ship at a startup pace and has an eye for exceptional UI/UX. This role involves full ownership of engineering projects, designing technical architecture from scratch, and finding solutions to roadblocks. You will be expected to move at a startup pace (ship a sizable feature in a week or less) and be known to be faster than your peers in shipping code. Your ability to know what 'good' looks like is instrumental, and you should be motivated by building delightful products. As a startup, our advantage is agility and speed.

Startup mindset: You move extremely fast — you can ship a sizable feature in a week or less.
Critical eye for detail and user experience: Good design is no longer a luxury; it’s now table stakes. Every well-designed product we use had good designers, yes, but ultimately they also had excellent developers that had an instinct for what looks good and works well. One of our product’s advantages is superior UI/UX, and your ability to know what 'good' looks like is instrumental, and you should be motivated by building delightful products.
Autonomy and Ownership: You thrive when given autonomy and ownership, and can design a technical architecture for a feature from scratch. As a full-stack engineer, you’ll have full ownership and responsibility of your engineering projects, and you’ll be expected to create technical designs with the right trade-offs and find solutions to roadblocks.

Requirements:
5+ years of experience in full-stack web applications.
Backend in any language (such as Ruby, Node.js, Python, or similar), frontend in React preferably, and TypeScript.
Deep experience building complex SPA web applications and API backends.
Writing code that balances speed, reliability, and quality.
Ideally, you have previous startup experience.
Our tech stack is Ruby, Rails, React, Tailwind, and Postgres. You aren’t required to know Ruby; we are open to any backend experience.

Location and Offer:
This is a fully remote opportunity. We prefer applicants in North and South America, with a further preference for areas where our current employees are: San Francisco Bay Area, New York, Los Angeles, Rio de Janeiro, and São Paulo.
What we offer: Base salary range of $170–230K USD plus stock options.
