About Onja: Onja is a social enterprise training underprivileged youth into world-class software developers. We find brilliant minds in Madagascar who otherwise would be limited to low-paid careers and train them in English and software development. After two-and-a-half years, our graduates are ready to work as remote front-end developers in international tech teams.

About The Role: From 2020 to 2021, we developed a full-time course that allowed twenty students to progress from absolute beginners to industry-ready developers. Now, we need a Front End Course Designer to rebuild this course from the ground up into a highly scalable online-style program focusing primarily on React while including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript.

Key Responsibilities:

• Rebuilding the existing course with a focus on React and related technologies
• Creating engaging video lectures, learning activities, and course content
• Finding and incorporating useful material from online sources
• Collaborating with Onja lecturers to integrate their experience
• Deciding on assessment criteria and developing evaluations
• Contributing to other parts of the organization as needed

Requirements:

• Twelve-month commitment with potential for renewal
• At least one year of professional React experience
• Willingness to learn and grow in the role is essential
• Interest in teaching and course design
