Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and development of core platform features, driving innovation in construction technology.
  • Optimize system performance and scalability to handle high-volume permit processing across thousands of municipalities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI capabilities into the permitting workflow.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence and operational efficiency.
  • Partner with product and business teams to define requirements and implement solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Ensure the reliability and security of our infrastructure, supporting global expansion and diverse project types.

Required Skills and Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven experience leading complex engineering projects with a focus on backend systems and distributed architectures.
  • Deep expertise in languages like Java, Go, or Python, with a track record of building scalable, high-performance applications.
  • Strong understanding of database design, cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure), and containerization technologies.
  • Experience with AI/ML integration, particularly in natural language processing or rule-based systems for compliance checking.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a history of mentoring and guiding engineering teams.
  • Passion for construction technology and a commitment to solving real-world problems.

Compensation: $200,000 - $275,000 + equity
