The Role: As a Fullstack Software Engineer at PermitFlow, you will be instrumental in building and enhancing the core platform that simplifies the construction permitting process. You will work across the entire technology stack, from frontend user interfaces to backend services and databases, developing features that directly impact our users. You'll collaborate closely with product, design, and other engineers to deliver high-quality software that addresses complex, real-world challenges in the construction industry. Responsibilities: - Design, develop, test, and deploy new features and enhancements across the full stack. - Build intuitive and performant user interfaces based on product requirements and designs. - Develop robust and scalable backend services and APIs. - Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (Product, Design, Operations). - Participate in code reviews, ensuring code quality and adherence to best practices. - Troubleshoot and resolve bugs and performance issues. - Contribute to improving engineering processes and system reliability. Ideal Candidate: - Solid experience as a Fullstack Software Engineer, comfortable working on both frontend and backend development. - Proficiency in modern web technologies (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, React/Vue/Angular, Node.js/Python/Ruby/Go, SQL/NoSQL databases). - Strong understanding of software engineering principles, data structures, and algorithms. - Experience building and consuming APIs. - Good communication and collaboration skills. - Customer-obsessed, ambitious, and hard-working, eager to learn and contribute in a fast-paced environment. - Excited about the opportunity to use technology to solve complex problems in the construction permitting space. - Based in or willing to relocate to New York City for an onsite role.
