Rust Backend Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Rust Backend Engineer to contribute to the core Polars engine or the backend systems powering Polars Cloud. You will be involved in designing, implementing, and optimizing high-performance backend services using Rust.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain robust, scalable, and high-performance backend systems in Rust.
- Collaborate with the team on architectural decisions and code reviews.
- Optimize code for maximum speed and efficiency, particularly in data processing contexts.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of APIs.
- Work closely with frontend and DevOps engineers to deliver features.

Technical Skills Required:
- Strong proficiency in Rust programming.
- Experience with backend development, API design (REST, gRPC).
- Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and performance optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with database systems and cloud platforms is a plus.
- Experience with Python is beneficial.
