We are looking for an experienced Database Engineer to design, manage, and optimize the database infrastructure supporting Polars Cloud and our internal systems. You will ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of our data storage solutions.

Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable database systems (SQL and NoSQL).
- Monitor database performance, implement optimizations, and conduct tuning.
- Develop strategies for data backup, recovery, and security.
- Collaborate with backend engineers on data modeling and schema design.
- Evaluate and implement new database technologies and features.
- Ensure high availability and disaster recovery for critical data stores.

Technical Skills Required:
- Deep understanding of database internals, data modeling, and architecture (SQL/NoSQL).
- Proven experience with database administration, performance tuning, and optimization.
- Experience with cloud-based database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, GCP Cloud SQL).
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation.
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts is a plus.
