As a Staff Software Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in shaping the product, codebase, and culture of our platform. You'll work on building elegant solutions for clinical teams to deliver personalized care to an expanding patient population. **Role Overview:** You'll design and implement systems that power Pomelo Care's platform, focusing on features that enhance the patient experience and support clinical workflows. Your work will directly impact the quality of care for pregnant women and new parents.

**Key Responsibilities:**
- Write clean, maintainable code to build new features and enhance platform performance
- Collaborate with clinicians and product managers to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Design and implement systems that enable personalized care delivery
- Optimize database performance and API endpoints
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to code reviews
- Participate in design discussions for new features and infrastructure improvements

**Required Skills:**
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Proficiency in languages like Kotlin, TypeScript, or Java
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and API design
- Experience with React or similar frontend frameworks
- Knowledge of database optimization techniques
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and containerization

**Nice-to-Have:**
- Experience with healthcare or regulated industries
- Background in mobile development (React Native)
- Familiarity with healthcare data standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR)
- Experience with infrastructure automation (Terraform)
