Senior / Staff Applied-ML & LLM Security Engineer

Promptfoo is seeking a Senior or Staff Applied-ML and LLM Security Engineer to enhance our security capabilities and ensure our platform remains a trusted tool for developers. You will work on cutting-edge research and engineering to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities in LLM applications.

About Promptfoo: Our MIT-licensed toolkit helps developers evaluate, secure, and optimize their LLM applications. With a focus on enterprise-grade security, we provide features like automated vulnerability scanning and security-hardened templates. Responsibilities:

• Design and implement security features for our LLM toolkit
• Conduct research on LLM vulnerabilities and mitigation strategies
• Collaborate with the engineering team to integrate security best practices
• Develop and maintain testing frameworks for security validation
• Stay current with industry advancements in AI security
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex security issues
• Mentor junior engineers on security best practices

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience in ML engineering or security research
• Strong background in machine learning and AI systems
• Expertise in LLM security and vulnerability assessment
• Experience with applied machine learning and security research
• Familiarity with statistical analysis and security modeling
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
