Company: Q (Cue) is building a revolutionary new way for people to communicate, deeply rooted in large-scale deep learning. We train massive models across many GPUs using proprietary data. Role: The Q ML team is seeking an Expert AI/ML Algorithm Developer focused on Speech/Audio. You will be responsible for developing and implementing new methods for modeling human communication using unique proprietary data. This involves developing algorithms to process data, devising metrics for evaluation, and perfecting them. Your input will influence data quality improvements, the entire workflow, and the system's design. The role combines cutting-edge research with product-oriented development, aiming to push model sizes to their limits for deployment on low-resource and low-power compute environments. Responsibilities: * Utilize and develop a wide variety of algorithms from speech recognition (ASR) and audio enhancement domains. * Apply techniques ranging from audio signal processing to State-of-the-Art (SOTA) ASR and NLP techniques. * Train large deep learning models over long durations, requiring both cutting-edge research thinking and solid engineering skills. * Develop Q's unique multidisciplinary technology. * Contribute to scaling deep learning systems. Technical Skills Required: * Deep knowledge of Machine Learning concepts and toolkits (PyTorch, TensorFlow). * Strong experience with speech processing, ASR, and/or Audio enhancement (at least 5 years). * Practical experience with large-scale data processing, design, and performance evaluation. * Experience utilizing modern ML frameworks and recent research. * Strong engineering skills for scaling DL systems. Ideal Candidate: * Highly research-oriented and technically strong. * M.Sc. in Computer Science with a thesis in AI/Data Science or equivalent (Ph.D. is an advantage). * At least 5 years' experience in machine learning. * Experience with Natural Language Processing (NLP) is a significant advantage. * Knowledge and experience with signal processing is an advantage. * Must have permanent US Work authorization (Q does not offer visa sponsorship). * Ability to work fully onsite at the Boston office. This role requires dealing with unique proprietary data and pushing the boundaries of deep learning in speech and audio.
