Senior Full Stack Engineer (Elixir / React)
About Rabbet Rabbet connects people and data to streamline construction finances. It offers cloud‑based software for commercial lenders and real‑estate developers to centralize construction finance, automate administrative tasks, and reduce the time spent managing draws. Founded in 2017, Rabbet is backed by QED, Goldman Sachs, and Y Combinator and has a team of ~25 employees focused on efficiency, transparency, and relationships.
What you’ll do
- Own the development, maintenance, testing, and operations of a full‑stack application. Backend is primarily Elixir/Phoenix/Absinthe hosted on GCP; frontend is React using JavaScript and TypeScript.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with product managers, designers, and engineers to understand user problems, design solutions, and validate work.
- Build and maintain the application throughout its product life‑cycle.
- Take ownership and make key decisions about what to build and how to build it.
- Mentor and support other engineers through pairing, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements
- 6+ years of backend software development experience, with 3+ years in a functional language (Elixir or Erlang preferred).
- 3+ years of experience with React.
- Self‑directed, capable of working effectively in a startup environment.
- Ability to design data models and architect performant, maintainable software for large codebases.
- Strong communication skills and responsiveness in a remote setting.
Preferred Experience
- Building GraphQL APIs using Absinthe.
- Deep understanding of PostgreSQL database design and optimization.
- Experience mentoring engineers.
- Prior experience in a fintech startup.

Location & Travel
- Must reside in Colorado, North Carolina, or Texas (exceptional candidates outside these states may be considered, but sponsorship is not offered).
