**The Role: Software Engineer (SRE)**

We are looking for a skilled Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join our team in New York City. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of Radar's infrastructure, which handles over 1 billion API calls per day. You'll work on our multi-region AWS deployment, striving for 99.99%+ availability, and contribute to the infrastructure supporting projects like HorizonDB (our Rust-based geospatial database) and our high-throughput APIs.

**Responsibilities:**

*   Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable infrastructure on AWS.
*   Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.
*   Automate deployment, monitoring, and operational tasks.
*   Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure new features are reliable and scalable.
*   Participate in on-call rotation and incident response.
*   Improve system observability and tooling.

**Technical Skills:**

*   Strong experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS.
*   Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform.
*   Experience with containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
*   Solid understanding of networking, security, and databases.
*   Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
*   Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
*   Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
*   Familiarity with Rust or TypeScript is a plus.
