**The Role: Software Engineer (Data Platform)**

We are seeking a Data Platform Engineer to join our team in New York City. You will play a key role in designing, building, and scaling the data infrastructure that powers Radar's products and analytics. This includes working on our offline data pipelines, contributing to projects like HorizonDB (our Rust-based geospatial database), and developing systems for processing and analyzing vast amounts of location data (1B+ API calls/day).

**Responsibilities:**

*   Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines (batch and streaming).
*   Develop and optimize data storage solutions, including geospatial databases like HorizonDB.
*   Work with large datasets to enable analytics, machine learning (e.g., anomaly detection), and product features.
*   Ensure data quality, reliability, and performance across the platform.
*   Collaborate with product and engineering teams to understand data needs.
*   Utilize languages like Python, Scala, Rust, and SQL.

**Technical Skills:**

*   Strong experience building and managing data pipelines using tools like Spark, Flink, Kafka, etc.
*   Proficiency in languages like Python, Scala, or Rust.
*   Experience with various database technologies (SQL, NoSQL, Geospatial). Familiarity with Rust for database development (HorizonDB) is a strong plus.
*   Experience with cloud data warehousing solutions (e.g., Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake).
*   Knowledge of data modeling and ETL/ELT processes.
*   Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
*   Familiarity with Terraform is a plus.
