Security and privacy are paramount, demonstrated by our SOC 2 Type II certification and GDPR/CCPA compliance. **The Role: Software Engineer (Security)** Radar Labs is looking for a Security Engineer to join our team in New York City. You will be responsible for ensuring the security and integrity of our platform, infrastructure, and data. This includes working on application security, infrastructure security, compliance, and developing features like anomaly detection to identify spoofed locations. You'll play a crucial role in protecting our systems that handle sensitive location data and process over 1 billion API calls daily. **Responsibilities:** * Conduct security assessments, code reviews, and penetration testing. * Design and implement security controls across our infrastructure (AWS) and applications (Rust, TypeScript). * Develop and maintain security monitoring, alerting, and incident response capabilities. * Work on security features, such as location spoofing detection and fraud prevention. * Collaborate with engineering teams to embed security best practices into the development lifecycle. * Manage compliance requirements (SOC 2, GDPR, CCPA). * Stay up-to-date with emerging security threats and vulnerabilities. **Technical Skills:** * Strong background in application security and/or infrastructure security. * Experience with cloud security, particularly AWS security best practices and tools. * Proficiency in identifying and mitigating common security vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10, etc.). * Experience with security tools for SAST, DAST, IAST, and vulnerability scanning. * Knowledge of secure coding practices. Familiarity with Rust and TypeScript is a plus. * Understanding of network security principles and protocols. * Experience with security information and event management (SIEM) systems. * Familiarity with compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, CCPA). * Experience with anomaly detection or fraud detection systems is a plus. **Ideal Candidate:** * Passionate about security and protecting systems and data. * Possesses a hacker mindset combined with a pragmatic approach to security implementation. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. * Excellent communication skills, able to explain security concepts to technical and non-technical audiences. * Proactive and self-motivated, thrives in a fast-paced startup environment, embodying our values: Walk a mile, Push the pace, Play offense, Raise the bar, Enjoy the ride.
