Key responsibilities include:
- Building system-level software.
- Having a strong understanding or curiosity of OS level primitives.
- Being a student of both distributed systems and simplicity.

The ideal candidate should have:
- Strong understanding of distributed systems.
- Solid intuition about how long your solutions will last.
- Tact to implement your solution, creator monitors for it’s error boundaries, and document any requirements.
- Great sense of direction and prioritization.
- Sense of grit to dive into a problem, implement a solution, scale that solution, and replace it when needed.
Railway values autonomy, ownership, and craftsmanship. This is a high impact role with direct effect on company culture, trajectory, and outcome.
