Sr Frontend Engineer

Company: Rec Technologies is building modern software for parks & recreation, aiming to replace clunky city rec websites with user-friendly solutions for booking facilities, signing up for programs, and managing recreation departments. Our mission is to build technology to power the future of recreation.

Role: We are looking for a Senior Frontend Engineer to lead the development of intuitive and engaging user interfaces for our parks and recreation platform. You will play a key role in shaping the user experience for citizens and recreation department staff.

Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain responsive and performant web applications using React and TypeScript.
- Collaborate closely with Product Designers and Backend Engineers to translate requirements and mockups into high-quality code.
- Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
- Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
- Write clean, reusable, and well-documented code and components.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to frontend best practices.

Requirements:
- Significant professional experience in frontend development.
- Expert proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
- Deep understanding of React and its core principles.
- Experience with state management libraries (e.g., Redux, Zustand).
- Familiarity with modern frontend build pipelines and tools (e.g., Webpack, Vite, Babel).
- Experience with RESTful APIs and asynchronous request handling.
- Strong understanding of web accessibility (WCAG) standards.
