Development Support: Tools

Rockstar is on the lookout for a talented Development Support team member who passionate about supporting our game development teams and driving our tools technology forward.
This is a full‑time, permanent and in‑office position based in Rockstar’s state‑of‑the‑art game development studio in Edinburgh, Scotland.
WHAT WE DO
- The Rockstar Games Tools Team create and maintain software tools that are used by all game development disciplines to support the creation of all Rockstar Games projects.
- These software tools range from digital content exporters, a data processing asset pipeline to game, CI/CD automation systems and UI editors.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work within the Tools team primarily supporting our animators and environment artists with assistance and problem solving.
- Gain an understanding of artist and animator workflows and how the data they produce translates into the game engine.
- Diagnose exporter, data processing, and automation problems.
- Handle incoming support requests directed towards the Tools team.
- Escalate issues to Tools Leads and Tools Programmers where appropriate.
- Communicate frequently reported support issues with Tools Leads.
REQUIREMENTS
- 1+ year experience working in the games industry, software development or related field in a support role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with task and bug tracking software such as JIRA.
- An eagerness to learn new workflow and software tools.
- Excellent team working skills both in person and remote.
- Ability to work within schedule and deliver effectively to deadlines.
PLUSES
Please note that these are desirable skills and are not required to apply for the position.
- Experience working within a large‑scale AAA development team.
- A university degree in Game Production, Design, Data Science, or a related field.
- Familiarity with at least one digital content creation package.
- Experience with 3dsmax MaxScript, Motionbuilder or Maya.
