mechanical engineering CAD SolidWorks FEA prototyping medical devices neural engineering implants MEMS robotics Alameda Robotics
Science Corporation is a clinical-stage, vertically integrated neural engineering company in Alameda, CA, developing advanced medical technologies to restore quality of life. We focus on neuroscience's hardest questions, developing the full tech stack for neural interfaces (vision restoration, BCI) and recently raised $110M led by Khosla Ventures.

We are looking for exceptional Mechanical Engineers to join our dynamic team. You will play a critical role in the design, development, prototyping, and testing of complex mechanical and electromechanical systems for our neural interface devices and associated hardware. This includes working on implants, surgical tools, headstages (SciFi), and manufacturing equipment (Foundry).

Responsibilities:
* Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using CAD software.
* Perform structural, thermal, and tolerance analysis.
* Select materials and manufacturing processes suitable for medical devices and microfabrication.
* Build and test prototypes, iterating designs based on results.
* Collaborate closely with electrical, software, and biology teams to integrate systems.
* Create detailed engineering drawings and documentation.
* Work with vendors and manage fabrication processes.

Ideal Candidate:
* Strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles.
* Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Onshape).
* Experience with FEA simulation tools.
* Hands-on experience with prototyping and testing methodologies.
* Knowledge of materials science, particularly biocompatible materials.
* Experience in medical device design, microfabrication (MEMS), or robotics is highly desirable.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
