Backend Engineer - Clojure

**About The Role:** We are seeking an experienced Backend Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable backend systems that power our platform. You will work closely with product managers, frontend engineers, and data scientists to build robust and efficient services that handle large-scale data processing and user requests.

**What You'll Do / Responsibilities:** 
* Design and develop scalable backend services using Clojure and functional programming paradigms.
* Build and maintain APIs that integrate with frontend applications and third-party services.
* Optimize database queries and implement efficient data storage solutions using PostgreSQL and graph databases.
* Ensure system reliability and performance through thorough testing and monitoring.
* Collaborate with infrastructure teams to deploy and maintain applications in production environments.
* Translate business requirements into technical specifications and architectural designs.

**What You'll Bring / Requirements / Qualifications:** 
* Expertise in Clojure and functional programming concepts.
* Familiarity with GCP, Kubernetes, and Docker for infrastructure management.
* Experience with PostgreSQL and graph databases for complex data traversal.
* Ability to translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable architecture.
* Prior startup experience is a plus.
* Comfortable with Docker and build systems.
