About The Role: We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our backend engineering team, where you will play a key role in designing and developing scalable backend services that power our clinical AI platform. This is an exciting opportunity to significantly impact the scalability, reliability, and operational excellence of our infrastructure, while also mentoring and guiding the team.

What You’ll Do / Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement backend services using modern technologies.
  • Collaborate with frontend teams and data scientists to build APIs and data pipelines.
  • Write clean, testable code in languages like Go, Java, or Python.
  • Optimize database performance and ensure system reliability.
  • Mentor junior engineers and share best practices.

What You’ll Bring / Requirements / Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in backend development with languages like Go, Java, or Python.
  • Strong understanding of database systems and API design.
  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Compensation: The estimated pay range for this role is $150,000 - $250,000. Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in SmarterDx’s equity plan.
