The Role:
As a Software Engineer, AI/ML, you will play a crucial role in deploying, optimizing, and scaling Smile ID's machine learning capabilities. Your responsibilities will include:
- Deploying and optimizing scalable full-stack ML serving applications using frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, vLLM, and technologies such as FastAPI and NVIDIA Triton Inference Server.
- Building MLOps infrastructure from the ground up, covering data annotation, model monitoring, and evaluation processes.
- Fine-tuning, optimizing, and deploying multi-modal models, with a focus on integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) with computer vision systems.
- Integrating the results from computer vision and other ML models into the broader technology stack, including front-end web/mobile interfaces and back-end database services.

Ideal Candidate (You):
- Possess 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Have demonstrated experience working with large datasets, machine learning, and/or LLMs.
- Are proficient in Python programming.
- Have extensive experience with DevOps tools and practices, including CI/CD pipelines and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Are experienced with AWS cloud technologies (like S3, EC2, RDS, DynamoDB) or similar platforms such as Google Cloud (GCP) or Azure.
- Thrive in a remote environment and are passionate about building impactful technology for the African continent.
