Spacelift is an infrastructure orchestrator and collaborative management platform for Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC). We support a wide range of tools including OpenTofu, Terraform, Terragrunt, CloudFormation, Pulumi, and Kubernetes, enabling teams to automate and manage their cloud resources efficiently. As a Senior Software Engineer at Spacelift, you'll play a key role in designing and implementing scalable backend services in Go, with a focus on pragmatism and robustness. You'll own features from discovery through implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance, tackling sophisticated technical challenges while ensuring excellent user experiences.

About This Role:
- Design and develop scalable backend services in Go
- Own features from discovery through implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance
- Tackle sophisticated technical challenges involving multiple technologies
- Contribute to the team's technical roadmap and best practices
- Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge
- Participate in code reviews and ensure high-quality standards

Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement new features and improvements to the Spacelift platform
- Write clean, well-documented code following best practices and coding standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and define solutions
- Perform code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production
- Optimize system performance and scalability
- Contribute to the team's knowledge base and share expertise with the wider organization
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and industry trends

Required Skills:
- Proven experience in software engineering with a strong focus on backend development
- Proficiency in at least one compiled language (Go, C++, Java, C#). Experience with Go is highly desirable
- Deep understanding of system design, particularly in distributed systems and cloud computing
- Experience with major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their services
- Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, Ansible, CloudFormation, or Kubernetes
- Solid grasp of database concepts and experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to write efficient, bug-free code
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a track record of working effectively in teams

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in remote or distributed team settings
- Contributions to open-source projects or a portfolio of personal projects
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines
- Familiarity with testing frameworks and methodologies

Spacelift offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 to $110,000, plus an equity package for exceptional candidates.
