Engineering Lead

Company: Spill supports employees with their mental health by providing access to next-day therapy and counselling sessions. We work with 600 small businesses across the UK and deliver 3,000 therapy sessions monthly, operating as a small, impactful team of 9 FTEs. Our mission is to provide mental health support that employees actually use and love.

Role: We are seeking an experienced Engineering Lead to join our team in London (ONSITE). This role is pivotal in guiding our technical strategy and execution.

Responsibilities:
- Set the technical direction for the engineering team.
- Write high-quality code using Typescript, React, and Node.js to improve our counsellor, employee, and employer web applications.
- Line manage and mentor a team of 5 software engineers, fostering their growth and productivity.
- Collaborate closely with product managers and other stakeholders to define and deliver on our product roadmap.
- Ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of our platform.

Technical Skills Required:
- Strong proficiency in Typescript, React, and Node.js.
- Experience with modern web development practices and architectures.
- Proven ability to lead technical projects and make architectural decisions.

Ideal Candidate:
- Experienced software engineer with a track record of technical leadership.
- Demonstrated experience in line management or mentoring engineers.
- Passionate about building high-quality software products.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Interest in the mental health technology space is a plus.
