Role: We're seeking an experienced Principal Engineer to join our team on-site in Rotterdam. This is a critical role focused on providing technical leadership and shaping the future of our platform.

Responsibilities:
*   Provide strong technical direction for the engineering team.
*   Make bold and sound architectural decisions for new and existing systems.
*   Design, develop, and implement scalable, reliable, and future-proof systems.
*   Inspire and mentor other engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.
*   Collaborate closely with product management and other stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
*   Identify and champion opportunities for technical improvements and innovation.
*   Ensure high standards of code quality, testing, and operational stability.

Technical Skills & Requirements:
*   Proven experience as a Principal Engineer, Staff Engineer, or Architect in a product-driven company.
*   Deep understanding of software architecture principles, design patterns, and best practices for building large-scale, distributed systems.
*   Expertise in backend development (specific languages/frameworks not mentioned, but expect proficiency in common stacks).
*   Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
*   Strong understanding of databases (SQL and NoSQL), caching strategies, and message queues.
*   Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
