Join Stainless as a Software Engineer and help build the future of API tooling. We're the platform behind the SDKs for major players like OpenAI, Anthropic, and Cloudflare (`npm install openai`, `pip install anthropic`, `go get …cloudflare`, etc.).

    About Stainless:
    We are a ~3-year-old, ~20-person company with strong revenue, several years of runway, and backing from Sequoia & a16z. Our mission is to create high-quality, easy-to-use APIs and the tools developers need to interact with them effectively. We have great customers including OpenAI, Anthropic, and Cloudflare.

    The Role:
    As one of our first 20 engineers, you'll get autonomy to build great products and have a tremendous impact. You will design, build, and maintain core parts of our API generation platform and tooling. You'll work closely with skilled peers on challenging problems in software development tooling. Responsibilities include writing high-quality code, participating in design discussions, and collaborating across teams.

    Who We're Looking For:
    We seek exceptionally productive, thoughtful, tasteful, and kind engineers. You should have a passion for making software development better for everyone and a strong background in building robust software systems. Technical skills in areas like API design, SDK generation, compilers, or type systems are relevant. Experience with languages commonly used for SDKs (like Node.js/TypeScript, Python, Go, Java, Ruby) is a plus. Former founders are welcome.
