Billing Backend Postgres Financial Systems API Design Back End Engineer

**Role Overview:**
We are looking for a Billing Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in developing and maintaining our billing systems. You will work on the backend and infrastructure that powers our billing platform, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and scalability.

**Key Responsibilities:**
- Design and implement scalable billing and invoicing systems
- Work with financial data and ensure accurate billing for our customers
- Collaborate with product and sales teams to define billing features and requirements
- Optimize and maintain existing billing infrastructure
- Troubleshoot and resolve billing-related issues
- Develop and maintain APIs for billing functionalities
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and security standards
- Analyze usage patterns to identify optimization opportunities
- Build and maintain dashboards for billing analytics and reporting

**Required Skills and Ideal Candidate:**
- Proven experience in building and scaling backend systems
- Strong programming skills in languages like Go, Python, or Java
- Understanding of RESTful APIs and database design
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) is a plus
- Familiarity with financial systems and billing models
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, remote-first environment
- Experience with asynchronous communication and distributed teams
- Strong analytical skills with ability to handle complex data
