Role Overview: We are seeking a Postgres Tools Manager to lead our database tooling initiatives. You will work on enhancing our Postgres capabilities and ensuring our database tools meet the needs of our users.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement new features for our Postgres tools
• Collaborate with the engineering team to improve database performance and reliability
• Conduct research on new database technologies and innovations
• Develop documentation and best practices for database usage
• Gather feedback from users and incorporate it into product development
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues
• Stay updated on Postgres ecosystem developments
• Optimize database schemas and queries for performance
• Ensure compatibility with various database features and extensions

Required Skills and Ideal Candidate:

• Deep expertise in Postgres database internals
• Experience with database administration and optimization
• Strong knowledge of SQL and database querying
• Familiarity with database replication and clustering
• Experience with database monitoring and performance tuning
• Understanding of database security best practices
• Ability to work with open-source database tools
• Experience in developing database tools or extensions
• Familiarity with cloud database services
• Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
