**The Role:**
As a Product Engineer at Surge AI, you will be at the forefront of AI development, working on cutting-edge projects that directly impact the industry's leading models. You'll join a small, dynamic team and take ownership of building products that support advanced AI training techniques like Reinforcement Learning from Human Feedback (RLHF).

**Responsibilities:**
*   Develop innovative solutions and features to enhance annotation efficiency using the latest AI advancements.
*   Create intuitive user interfaces for data exploration, visualization, and complex annotation tasks, including RLHF processes.
*   Design, build, and maintain robust systems for large-scale data processing crucial for AI model training and evaluation.
*   Build interactive products and tools to effectively communicate complex instructions and workflows to our specialized workforce.
*   Collaborate closely with ML researchers (internal and external) to understand their needs and translate them into impactful product features.
*   Contribute to products that facilitate the collection, analysis, and quality control of human feedback data.
*   Ship features quickly and iterate based on user feedback in a fast-paced environment.

**Tech Stack:**
Ruby on Rails, React, Python.

**Ideal Candidate:**
*   Possesses a strong product-focused mindset, thriving on rapidly shipping features that solve real-world problems for AI researchers and data labelers.
*   Senior-level engineering skills across the stack (frontend, backend, infrastructure). Experience with Rails, React, and Python is a plus.
*   Is an autonomous self-starter who excels in a small team environment and takes full ownership of their work from conception to deployment.
*   Passionate about the potential and ethical implications of AI, committed to making models safer and more useful.
*   Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to learn quickly.
*   No prior AI/ML experience is required – strong engineering fundamentals are key, and you can learn the AI specifics on the job.
