Senior Full-Stack Engineer

Sutro is an LLM-driven app builder that enables businesses to create custom software instantly without writing a single line of code. We are building the next generation of AI-native no-code platforms, with a particular focus on complex agentic workflows and patterns from the fields of compilers and software language theory.

Our code base is mostly written in TypeScript, with React (Native) for the frontend. We are looking for an experienced full-stack engineer with expertise in architecting agentic workflows, building tasteful UIs, designing maintainable backend systems, and knowledge of software language theory and compilers.

Sutro helps businesses create custom software without coding. We build production-ready business software, not weekend projects. Our software guarantees correct functionality, leveraging LLMs to generate and configure applications. We were founded in 2021 by Tomas Halgas, who previously sold his company to Twitter. With a remote-first culture and offices in Oakland and Dubai, we are backed by Silicon Valley investors and aim for Silicon Valley results.

**Responsibilities:**
- Lead engineering projects and work closely with Tom (CEO) and other engineers
- Architect and implement complex agentic workflows
- Build and maintain high-quality user interfaces for web and mobile
- Design and develop backend systems with a focus on maintainability
- Contribute to the expansion of Sutro's capabilities into new domains
- Optimize infrastructure and improve system performance
- Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge

**Requirements:**
- Proven experience architecting complex agentic workflows
- Strong UI development skills with React (Native)
- Backend engineering expertise with a focus on maintainable systems
- Deep knowledge of compilers and software language theory
- Understanding of software architecture principles
- Experience with TypeScript and distributed systems
- Ability to work effectively in a remote-first environment
