Python Julia Data Science Machine Learning Carbon Removal Enhanced Rock Weathering Geostatistics Geochemical Modeling Data Science Staff Engineer
Terradot is a carbon removal company advancing the science and technology of Enhanced Rock Weathering (ERW), a carbon removal pathway that leverages earth's natural weathering cycle to draw carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere at the gigaton scale. We are seeking a Research Data Scientist to join our high-performance science and engineering team to develop an engine for quantifying and predicting CO2 removal in ERW projects. This is a unique opportunity to work on a high-impact problem of climate change mitigation by combining geochemical modeling, geostatistical analysis, and machine learning to optimize carbon removal processes. Some domain background is appreciated but not required, and we're currently working in Python and Julia. This role requires strong quantitative skills and a passion for solving complex environmental challenges through data-driven approaches. The position is ONSITE in San Francisco, CA or São Paulo, BR, and offers the chance to work with leading scientists and engineers from Stanford and other institutions. We've raised $60M in funding and have sold 300k tons of carbon dioxide removal offtakes to major companies like Frontier and Google, demonstrating the real-world impact of our technology.
