AI Control Research Intern
About Tornyol:
Tornyol is building anti-mosquito drones to fight against malaria and other mosquito-borne diseases. We use smartphone microphones to detect mosquitoes and reinforcement learning to guide our drones towards them. We’re in the middle of raising a pre-seed, and are looking for interns to join us for six months starting in September.
About The Role:
We are seeking an AI Control Research Intern to join our engineering team. In this role, you will code, test, and deploy reinforcement learning-based drone control policies and simulation environments. You’ll be responsible for advancing our AI capabilities to detect and eliminate mosquitoes effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and evaluate reinforcement learning algorithms for drone control
- Develop and maintain simulation environments for testing AI policies
- Collaborate with the team to integrate AI models into our drone systems
- Conduct research on cutting-edge AI techniques for mosquito detection and elimination
- Analyze data to improve AI performance and accuracy
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Robotics, AI, or related field
- Strong background in reinforcement learning or classical control theory
- Proficiency in Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar ML frameworks
- Experience with drone programming or robotics development is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
