Embedded Systems Intern
About Tornyol:
Tornyol is building anti-mosquito drones to fight against malaria and other mosquito-borne diseases. We use smartphone microphones to detect mosquitoes and reinforcement learning to guide our drones towards them. We’re in the middle of raising a pre-seed, and are looking for interns to join us for six months starting in September.
About The Role:
We are seeking an Embedded Systems Intern to join our engineering team. In this role, you will design the physical platform for our mosquito detection systems. Your responsibilities will include everything from CAD to designing PCBs or writing embedded signal processing code.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement embedded systems for mosquito detection
- Create CAD models and design PCBs for our hardware platforms
- Write and optimize signal processing code for real-time performance
- Collaborate with the team to integrate hardware components
- Test and debug embedded systems to ensure reliability
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
- Experience with embedded systems development (C/C++, Microcontrollers)
- Familiarity with FPGA development or digital signal processing is a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Experience with hardware design tools (Altium Designer, KiCad) is a plus
