Java/Kotlin Engineer

trivago is a leading metasearch engine that compares accommodation offers from many booking sites, helping travelers find the best deals. We are seeking a Java/Kotlin Engineer to join our talented engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our backend services, which power our search, comparison, and booking functionalities.

Your responsibilities will include writing clean, efficient, and scalable code using Java or Kotlin, collaborating with product managers and designers to implement new features, and ensuring the quality and performance of our applications. You will also be involved in code reviews, mentoring junior developers, and continuously improving our development processes.

We are looking for someone with strong programming skills in Java or Kotlin, experience with object-oriented design principles, and a solid understanding of database technologies (SQL and NoSQL). Familiarity with microservices architectures, RESTful APIs, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) is highly desirable. Additionally, you should have a passion for writing clean, maintainable code and be committed to delivering high-quality software.
