Frontend Engineer

trivago is a leading metasearch engine that compares accommodation offers from many booking sites, helping travelers find the best deals. We are seeking a Frontend Engineer to join our product team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing user interfaces that are both functional and visually appealing, ensuring a seamless experience for our millions of users.

Your responsibilities will include translating UI/UX design mockups into high-quality, responsive web applications using modern frontend technologies, optimizing application performance, and collaborating with backend engineers and product managers to implement new features. You will also be involved in writing and maintaining unit and end-to-end tests to ensure code quality and reliability.

We are looking for someone with expertise in frontend technologies such as React, TypeScript, and modern CSS frameworks (e.g., Tailwind CSS). Strong knowledge of JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3 is essential, along with experience with state management libraries and testing frameworks. Familiarity with build tools like Webpack and Git is required, and knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices is a plus.
