Company: Turnstile is building a next-gen quote-to-cash platform. We're a small (23-person), fully distributed (US/Canada) team of repeat founders and seasoned operators (10-25 years' experience), known for our intentional and inclusive culture. Our last company, Second Measure (YC S15), was acquired by Bloomberg. We are well-funded by top investors like First Round Capital. Our platform streamlines workflows across the entire revenue lifecycle—quoting, subscription management, automated billing, and financial reporting.

Role: We are seeking our first Staff Solutions Engineer to join our tight-knit, senior crew. This role is crucial as we gear up to scale our category-defining product, and requires a higher level of technical depth, strategic thinking, and leadership potential compared to a Senior role.

Responsibilities: You will partner with our sales team on our largest and most strategic accounts, leading the technical aspects of the sales cycle. You'll work directly with our biggest and most complex customers during pre-sales and post-sales phases, ensuring they derive maximum value from Turnstile. This includes architecting complex solutions, delivering executive-level technical presentations, overcoming significant technical hurdles, potentially guiding initial implementations for strategic clients, acting as a key technical advisor, and influencing product roadmap based on customer feedback and market insights. You may also mentor future team members.

Ideal Candidate: You have extensive experience (typically 8+ years) in customer-facing technical roles like Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, or Technical Architecture, preferably within B2B SaaS, specifically in sales tech, fintech, or billing/revenue platforms. You demonstrate deep technical expertise, outstanding communication and presentation skills suitable for technical and executive audiences, and a proven ability to design and articulate sophisticated solutions for complex enterprise requirements. Strong experience with APIs, complex data integrations, and potentially enterprise software architecture is expected. As the first hire in this function at a Staff level, you should be adept at shaping strategy, defining best practices, leading by example, working autonomously in ambiguity, and acting as a strong technical voice within the company.
