Unusual Circumstances is building Sitch, a new type of concierge dating app using AI + Humans to help people find love. We focus on quality matches and reducing app time, opposing the cynical monetization models of traditional dating apps. We're a top-tier VC funded, small team (2 cofounders from Snapchat/Bumble, CTO from Snap/Clubhouse, 3 engineers) based in NYC. Our mission is to make the world a more connected, happier place, believing technology can teach us to be more human.

We are looking for a Mid-level Engineer who is an all-arounder to join our small, dynamic team. The role involves working across our tech stack: Python, Django, OpenAI, Flutter, and Rust.

Responsibilities include contributing to backend systems (Python/Django) and potentially client-side code (Flutter). Backend development is the priority, but experience or a strong desire to learn Flutter is ideal. You will work on features integrating AI (OpenAI) and help build a scalable, robust platform. You'll collaborate closely with the cofounders and CTO in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate is an adaptable, mid-level engineer passionate about building meaningful products. You should be comfortable working across the stack, particularly strong in backend development with Python/Django. Experience with Flutter, Rust, or AI/ML models (like OpenAI) is a significant plus.
