**Role Overview:** We are hiring our first Data Engineer to play a pivotal role in designing and developing our next-generation data and analytics infrastructure from the ground up. This is an exciting opportunity to build robust, scalable, and efficient data pipelines that support our advanced analytics and machine learning initiatives. You will work closely with data scientists and quant researchers to understand their data needs and implement innovative solutions that drive our business forward.

**Key Responsibilities:**
* Design and develop data pipelines using Python, Dagster, Clickhouse, Kubernetes, Polars, and Grafana
* Collaborate with data scientists and quant researchers to understand their data needs and implement solutions
* Optimize data storage and processing to handle large volumes of market data efficiently
* Ensure data quality, integrity, and security throughout the data lifecycle
* Monitor and maintain the health of data systems and infrastructure
* Troubleshoot and resolve complex data-related issues
* Stay at the forefront of technology advancements in data engineering and analytics

**Required Skills:**
* Proficiency in Python, SQL, and data engineering tools
* Experience with data orchestration tools like Dagster
* Familiarity with distributed systems and databases such as Clickhouse
* Knowledge of containerization and orchestration with Kubernetes
* Experience with data analysis and visualization using Polars and Grafana
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
* Understanding of financial data structures and market conventions

**Ideal Candidate:**
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
* 3-5 years of experience in data engineering or software engineering with a focus on data systems
* Passion for building scalable and reliable data infrastructure
* Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure
* Familiarity with options analytics or financial modeling is a plus
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills

**Compensation:** The estimated pay range for this role is $140,000 - $180,000. Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Vola Dynamics' equity plan. Benefits include comprehensive health insurance, unlimited PTO, and a supportive work environment.
