Role Overview: We are seeking a Software Engineer—Data to join our engineering team, focusing on developing and maintaining the software infrastructure that powers our advanced options analytics. This role combines strong software engineering practices with data expertise to build robust, scalable, and efficient systems that handle complex financial computations and data processing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable software solutions for options pricing and analytics
- Optimize algorithms and data structures for performance-critical applications
- Collaborate with quant researchers to translate complex mathematical models into production-ready code
- Develop and maintain APIs for data access and analytics
- Ensure code quality, reliability, and performance through rigorous testing and monitoring
- Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and performance issues
- Stay current with industry trends in software engineering and financial technology
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in Python, C++, or Java
- Experience with high-performance computing and parallel processing
- Strong understanding of algorithms and data structures
- Familiarity with financial modeling and options pricing concepts
- Experience with version control systems like Git
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of cloud platforms and containerization technologies
Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 3-5 years of software engineering experience with a focus on performance-critical applications
- Experience with financial computing or quantitative finance
- Strong background in mathematics or computer science
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
Compensation: The estimated pay range for this role is $140,000 - $180,000. Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Vola Dynamics’ equity plan. Benefits include comprehensive health insurance, unlimited PTO, and a supportive work environment.
