About The Role: As an Applied AI Engineer at Wordware, you will be at the forefront of building AI tools that empower users to create agents without writing code. You will design and implement production RAG pipelines, agent memory systems, and multi-step tool-using agents. This role is critical to our mission of democratizing AI development.

What You’ll Do / Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and deploy production RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) pipelines that power our AI agents.
  • Develop robust agent memory systems that allow AI agents to retain context and improve over time.
  • Create and optimize multi-step tool-using agents that can perform complex tasks by chaining together multiple capabilities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, design, and backend engineers) to define requirements and ensure alignment.
  • Profile, optimize, and scale AI components to handle millions of users.
  • Stay at the forefront of AI/ML advancements and incorporate new techniques into our platform.
  • Contribute to technical documentation and code reviews.

What You’ll Bring / Requirements / Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in designing and implementing AI/ML systems, particularly RAG-based architectures.
  • Deep understanding of machine learning models, data processing pipelines, and vector databases.
  • Strong programming skills (Python preferred) with experience in building scalable backend services.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with production deployment of ML models and monitoring their performance.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex distributed systems.
  • Passion for AI and democratizing access to powerful tools.

Compensation: The estimated pay range for this role is $140,000 - $220,000. Additionally, this role is eligible for equity participation.
