Staff Engineer

ROLE:
We are looking for a world-class Staff Engineer to join our 14-person London-based startup. This role involves architecting and guiding the delivery of complex software features, projects, and platforms. You will have company-wide level impact in a growing startup environment. Offering £140k - £160k + 1% equity.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Architect scalable and robust systems and platforms.
- Lead, mentor, and guide engineers in the delivery of complex features and projects.
- Ensure high technical quality and velocity across engineering teams.
- Collaborate closely with product, design, and leadership teams.
- Contribute significantly to technical strategy and roadmap decisions.
- Drive technical initiatives with company-wide impact.

TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Deep understanding of web technologies.
- Expertise in our tech stack: TypeScript, React, Node.js, PostgresSQL, AWS.
- Proven track record of architecting and delivering complex software projects and platforms.

IDEAL CANDIDATE:
- Experienced engineer with a history of company-wide impact in fast-paced environments (startups and scale-ups).
- Cares deeply about velocity — shipping is our heartbeat, and getting work in the hands of customers.
- Comfortable working hybrid (3 days/week in Central London office, Mondays and Wednesdays common). Culture supports collaboration and deep work.
