Frequently Asked Questions
- How does the job application tracker work?
- Every time you click Apply on a job listing, AI Hacker Jobs automatically records it in your application history. There's no separate spreadsheet to maintain, no browser extension to install, and no copy-pasting URLs. Head to your Account page, open Application History, and every role you've clicked Apply on is there — with the company, date, and current status.
- What statuses can I track?
- Each application moves through 8 stages: Visited (auto-tracked when you view a job), Applied (when you submit), Screen (recruiter or phone screen), Interview, Offer, Declined (you decided not to proceed), Rejected (the company didn't move forward), and No Answer (you're still waiting). Update the status from a dropdown next to any application.
- Is application tracking free?
- Yes. Application tracking is included with the free Bronze plan along with the job board, advanced search, personalized job matches, and per-job relevance scoring.
- Do I have to manually log every application?
- No. Clicking Apply on any job listing automatically creates a tracked entry. You only touch the tracker to update the status as you progress through interviews — and even that is optional. The default view shows everything you've ever clicked Apply on, sorted by date.
- Can I see all my applications in one place?
- Yes. The Application History tab on your Account page shows every role you've applied to: title, company, location, status, applied date, last updated. You can sort and filter — and because it's all in one place, you can spot the patterns (e.g., "I get screens but no second-rounds at Series B companies").
- What happens if I apply to a job outside AI Hacker Jobs?
- Currently the tracker captures applications you click Apply on through AI Hacker Jobs. We're exploring ways to log applications from anywhere on the web. In the meantime, the best workflow is: find the role on AI Hacker Jobs (or the company's page on our site), click Apply, then continue to the company's application form.
