Polaron

Polaron is an Imperial College London spinout using generative AI to bridge the gap between process (how materials are made) and performance (how materials behave). We’re building a platform that enables materials designers to use these state-of-the-art AI techniques in their day-to-day work, accelerating the development of advanced materials for applications like clean energy, transport, and infrastructure from years to days. We’re a small, well-funded team, and have just won the UK Government’s £1 million Manchester Prize for AI innovation and public good. Our technology uses microstructural images - the microscopic features of a material visible under a microscope - to rapidly analyse and predict how materials will perform.
