Sutro is an LLM-driven app builder that enables businesses to create custom software instantly without writing a single line of code. We are building the next generation of AI-native no-code platforms, with a particular focus on complex agentic workflows and patterns from the fields of compilers and software language theory. Founded in 2021 by Tomas Halgas, a former Sphere (now known as X Communities) executive and AI researcher from Oxford, Sutro is backed by Silicon Valley investors and operates with a Silicon Valley work ethic. Our team of 8, mostly past founders, is based in Oakland, CA, with an office in Dubai. We are a remote-first company, welcoming team members from around the world, though we prefer those willing to relocate to Oakland or Dubai for a hybrid arrangement. Our core working hours are 8am-11am PST to align with the Oakland office. Sutro's mission is to change the way the world builds software by increasing the level of abstraction, creating fully functioning and guaranteed-to-work software without requiring technical expertise.
